About Calio

Where Calio comes from

Calio has been online since 27 July 2026. It was built because the common schedulers put the appointments of European businesses and their guests on American servers, and because a calendar holding names, email addresses and sometimes the reason for a meeting is exactly the kind of data you want to know the location of.

That is not a marketing position but a technical choice with consequences. Which ones, and why “data in Europe” from an American provider means something different than it appears to, is written out in our article on the CLOUD Act.

Where it runs

The application and the database sit in a data centre in Amsterdam. All processing happens inside the EU, including the parts where that is less obvious: email delivery and the AI search helper both run through European parties.

Which subprocessors we use is listed by name and country in the data processing agreement and the privacy policy. That agreement applies to every plan, including the free one, and is not behind a subscription.

What we hold ourselves to

• The free plan stays free. No trial that quietly turns into a subscription, no credit card up front.
• The prices are on the site. Every amount on /en/pricing is per user per month and excludes VAT. Changes are announced 30 days in advance and only take effect from your next billing period.
• What is not finished, we do not call finished. Features in development carry an asterisk on the pricing page. Presenting something that already works as “coming soon” costs sales; the reverse costs trust.
• The booking page sets no cookies at all. Which is why there is no banner. Why that is allowed, and why it works out differently in Germany and France, is in the article on the cookie banner.
